Biography
My name Javon Robinson I was born in Richmond Virginia, 1990 in Mosby Court Projects with four brothers and one sister. Growing up in a single parent home, life was very challenging and the fact that I didn’t have a father figure left me with a void I felt like I just couldn’t fill. However, deep down inside I knew that without a role model in my life, how could I become a man? Life went on we struggled, but there was no doubt in my mind that my mother did everything possible to provide the best life she could. Time went by and we were forced to move from Mosby Projects due to a violent altercation between my brothers and soon learned disloyal friends.
Moving to a new part of town was hard being that I still was repp’n that Mosby set. Quickly, I made some enemies and friends, but it’s crazy how the Most High works because my enemies didn’t last long, they all moved or got locked up. Now, the friends I made we became lifelong friends, everything we did good bad or indifferent we did together. We were young and reckless trying to find answers the struggles of our lives. Our name was the Kamikaze Squad, and we robbed, fought, sold drugs whatever it took to provide for our families and us. Nothing couldn’t nothing stop me, I had to go get what was not giving to me.
Now, this rapping became a passion to me because it was an outlet for my pain. All of us in the back in a cypher spitt’n hot sixteens’. Me I started off just making beats with my mouth and a pencil. In school that’s all I did make beats in the class rooms, eat lunch, and leave because I School wasn’t my focus, getting that money was all I thought about. Later on I tried my hand a rapping. I mean lyrically I wasn’t mature yet but I knew I could become one of the best by strong determination and developing my craft. And I guess I was right because now I write music for myself and others. I compose R&B, Hip-Hop, Country, and wedding ceremonial music. However with all that said I can still humble myself for more ways to improve my skills.
Even writing this I thought about how life turned around for me. We are out of the projects mentally and physically. Know I help take care of my mother the right way. My Uncle Floyd came into my life and showed me how to be the man that my father failed to be. However, my Uncle Floyd passed away on June 15th 2011 and we will always miss him. Know I also know that with this gift that the Most High has blessed me with I will never compromise it by robbing, carrying pistols, or selling drugs to achieve a better life for my mother. Know I use rapping to tell my story in efforts of uplifting someone else thru the struggles I once endured. It’s crazy cause that the man I was looking for was always in me!
